Skincare unboxing is always exciting, especially when it comes to high-end products. I recently treated myself to the HydroTherm Collection from Lavelier – here’s what I thought about these luxury formulas…
Skincare Unboxing: The HydroTherm Sauna Collection
Although Lavelier sells each of the products in the HydroTherm Collection individually, I went all out and ordered the full set. It arrived a few days later (bonus points for speedy shipping!) and definitely looked the part. The products were nestled in a sturdy box (which also happens to be recyclable), with the packaging really enhancing the brand’s elegant, upmarket image.
There were four products in the box and, of course, I immediately gave them a try:
The HydroTherm Intense Masque
The HydroTherm Intense Masque is a clay mask with a difference. Open the glitzy jar and although it may look like any other clay mask, take a look at its ingredient list and you will, like I was, immediately be impressed. Kaolin clay is joined by vitamins A, C, and E, along with aloe vera, coffee seed extract, and several other botanicals.
The instructions state that this mask is designed to be used monthly. I did as I was told and started by cleansing my skin before applying a generous layer of the mask.
Here’s where things got interesting…
With this being a thermal mask, it’s designed to heat up after it’s applied to the skin. Not only does this immediately make the mask feel more luxurious and soothing but it also has the effect of enhancing the absorption of the ingredients within the mask. Lavelier states that the heating effect can be intensified by applying the HydroTherm Sauna Serum over the top of the mask. So, I did just that. The warmth was definitely more noticeable after this, but not uncomfortably so.
After 10 minutes, I rinsed the mask off. The effects were pretty magical! My skin looked significantly brighter and smoother. It also felt much softer, to the point where I couldn’t stop touching my face for a while after!
The HydroTherm Sauna Serum
In addition to using the HydroTherm Sauna Serum with the HydroTherm Intense Masque, it also functions as a standalone serum. So, once I had rinsed the mask off, I decided to follow up with another application of this silky solution.
One of the biggest benefits of this serum is hydration. It’s brimming with a range of super-hydrating ingredients. From sodium hyaluronate and glycerin to peptides, collagen, and coral seaweed extract, all of these moisture-binding ingredients should instantly plump up the complexion.
Did they manage to do that? 100%. I couldn’t believe how full and dewy my skin looked after I applied this serum. Skincare unboxing is always so much more satisfying when the products that you’ve opened actually do as they claim, and this one didn’t disappoint.
The packaging itself deserves a mention too. I’ve bought many serums in the past that have come in transparent bottles with dropper dispensers. They may look good but the fact that the ingredients within are constantly being exposed to air and light means that they’ll deteriorate so much faster. This Lavelier serum, on the other hand, comes in an opaque bottle with a pump dispenser. This prolongs the shelf life of the product.
The HydroTherm Completion Creme
I’m usually quite picky when it comes to moisturizers. Due to my combination skin, I have to be careful that the moisturizer that I use doesn’t clog up my pores. However, with the HydroTherm Completion Creme promising to minimize the look of enlarged pores while also smoothing and reviving the complexion, I had high hopes!
Just like Lavelier’s other products, this moisturizer is filled with a long list of plant extracts. Sea buckthorn, green tea, chamomile, cucumber, and coral seaweed are just a few of the superstar ingredients in this cream. You’ll also find sodium hyaluronate, resveratrol, meteorite powder, and a number of other skin-loving compounds.
I loved how smooth my skin looked after I applied this cream for the first time. Amazingly, my pores looked almost invisible afterward while my fine lines also looked much softer and less noticeable. It’s also extremely lightweight, meaning that I’m able to apply makeup over the top without any problems!
The 0.25mm Derma Roller
Microneedling has been gaining a lot of attention lately, especially now that at-home derma rollers are so widely available. Treat yourself to the Lavelier HydroTherm Collection and you’ll find a 0.25mm derma roller included in the set. These needles are the perfect length for someone who is new to microneedling – they’ll give you great results without causing any discomfort!
The first time I used the HydroTherm Collection, I left the derma roller out. However, I gave it a try the next day, after cleansing but before applying the serum and cream. It wasn’t my first time using a derma roller but it was certainly my first time seeing such great results from one! My skin felt notably rejuvenated after my first use, with this only increasing with each subsequent use.
